Standing over the shores of Lake Naivasha in Kenya at 2886 metres this massive dormant volcano is an arresting sight for visitors to the Lake Naivasha basin. Created amongst the massive eruptions which formed the Great Rift Valley, its sides are now beautifuly lined with spectacular fissures and laval canyons with impenetrable forest around the area of the crater giving it a lush green aspect. The Mount Longonot National Park surrounds the volcano.

Depart Nairobi early in the morning. Stop at the Rift Valley View Point to see the wonders that makes it be called ‘The Great Rift Valley’.

View the Loita Plains and then proceed to Mt. Longonot for a walk and then continue to Lake Naivasha which is a fresh water lake and the lowest lake in Rift valley.

You will have lunch at a convenient point or time. (Time permitting, one can have a boat trip to the Crescent Islands which is not included in the price-thus an optional arrangement)
